Fierce Verdict - SAG Awards

Hello Darlings,

This post was meant to have been put up since Monday, i blame it on work and internet issues. Its the awards season and the fashion police in me is always very excited to see which of my fave stars is wearing what on the red carpet.

The Screen Actors Guild Awards happened last weekend, From my observation, Monochromes and the Black & White trend stole the show as stars shone bright like diamonds in them. i should put up a post on the Black and White trend real soon, love it!

Here are a few looks i liked, Head to toe!

Claire Danes in Givenchy

Love her dress, love her lippy...she looks amazinggg!!! She definitely doesn't look like the crazy Carey in Homeland.

Nina Dobrev in Ellie Saab

By far my favorite of the night, Nina has a way of killing it on the red carpet in a subtle yet elegant way, way to go Elena !!!

Kerry Washington in Rodarte

Kerry has had an amazing career lately, i fancy the way she transfers that vibe to the red carpet, homegirl is fast becoming a muse!

Naomi Watts in Marchesa

This amazing child star is a fave of mine in Mad Men, growing up to be a fine young woman. Her dress is age appropriate, pretty and fun.

Justin Timberlake in Tom Ford

Justin looks dapper in this plaid suit, love the combination with the classic white shirt, he looks like the million bucks he is. I like the way he avoided the regular tux which happens to be the norm, this is all so stylish!

I should put up a personal style post before this week runs out, until then its nothing but love for you guys.

PS: I am so glad January has come to an end, its been such a long drive lol!

It was the Oscars 2012

For Hollywood, its been awards, awards and more awards lately.

The 84th Academy Awards held on Sunday 26th February, 2012  was one of them and yours truly was up till late to mind the glitz, glam and things on TV for the love of fashion and style i guess : )

Without any more stories, lets see who made my list.... not like I'm that important anyway... lol.

Basically, there was quite a lot of sequin, assymetrical cut, a few blacks, copper, rust, very few pastels, less jewelry which i think was a good idea and more

Simply see for yourself !

Giulliana Rancic in Tony Ward Couture

The Best i have seen on her, ever!

Emma Stone in Giambattista Valli

Whoever that is, did her right....I am totally gushing over this dress.....Awesome!

Nina Dobrev at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party

This Vampire Babe has got style : )

Rooney Mara in Givenchy

Amazing!

Judy Greer in Monique Lhullier
I love the mettalic detail going on....very memorable

Mila Jovovich in Elie Saab

Very Old Hollywood!

Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford

I feel like she could do without the cape but i guess its an attempt to be fierce and that's okay

This post will not be complete without a show off of some of my favourite men.....

Tom Ford.... Love the Jacket!

The gorgeous Mr Pharell Williams always looks dapper : )

I had fun watching and blogging
Till later

Fierce Verdict- Grammy Awards 2012

First of all i need to say i'm still mourning the loss of a living legend- Whitney Houston.

For the first time in my life i cried when i heard the news of a celebrity who passed on...

Its even more painful that she was so young....at this point i think its best to say rest in peace mama whit! You have gone to rest.

In much better news, the 54th grammy awards happened last nite and i was up almost through it all

As i blog, my head spins from lack of sleep but i guess thats the price to pay for enjoying fashion and music in real time.

Overall it was clearly a sober night, nothing exciting really....i guess because of the sad news hovering....oh well

On the flip side, people had to get dressed so we have hits and misses..... : )

The Hits....

Alicia in Alexandre Vauthier and a pair of Loubous
Love Love this outfit from H2T....Fierce Fierce Fierce

The best arm candy is your man....Swizz beat and her are so cute!!!

Kelly Osbourne in Tony Ward
I like the way she looks and thankfully, the hair blends in really well

Kelly Rowland in Alberta Ferretti
Very dolled up, Very nice! I love the colour....soft and sweet just like her

Riri in Armani
I must say I'm not really in love with this hair but its rihanna and i love her so lips sealed....i need me some short do on you again.....that would have scored this very sexy dress  rated R

My darling Amber in Versace

My darling Adele in Armani

As much as i love her, i feel like she always looks the same on the red carpet....it will be nice to try new things because i think your body is banging : )

That Amazing voice did it all !!!

The Misses...

Fergie in JPG
I think Fergie is really special but a huge no to this lace piece and the weird underwear she paired it up with....im sure the designer did not know of this....a huge NO

Katy Perry in Elie Saab
Granny katy....i did not like this look on her, she's just not voluptuous enough to rock it and that up do looks like it was dyed with water colour....not good at all

I refuse to know her name, id call her mrs robocrap

Nicki Minaj and her Pope

When you start trying to be fierce, then there's a problem...i did not see the need for this at all, totally laughable

My Dapper Young men....

Common

                                                              John Legend

Shaggy

Eric Bennet

The Gorgeous Globes!

Aloha,

Its nice to have our week in Nigeria start, finally.

I sincerely believe this year will bring an end to all the national problems we are facing by his grace, Amen.

Moving on, i hardly blog about awards because its on every website and stuff but a few looks stunned me at the golden globes held on Sunday night in Beverly Hills, hence this post.

Usually, the looks seen on the red carpet set the trend for the fashion season's in 2012, inspire designers, stylists and fashion lovers: a benefit that is timeless and fun!

Popular trends seen on the red carpet at this event include the bird trend (feathers, scales), thigh high slits, Nude/blush tones (almost becoming a bore.....yawns), fish tails (that dominated), plunging neck/back lines, suprising buttercup yellows, weird looking blues and tiny little headbands.

Vintage pieces were mordernized and a lot of the showcased designs were inspired by little mermaid lol  It is safe to say the steal was either in the cut, the colour/tone or the detail. In short, money is good!!!

After all said and done, i must say my favorite look of the night was Angie baby's, Gosh I love the frock!!!
The neckline is fierce and says it all, the 40's pleats by the hip is sensual, the fit is perfect and the styling, epic! #waytogo

One of my favourite phrases in fashion is "less is more" and i'm more than glad that Angelina Jolie's  Versace cream silk gown was a practical explanation of that.....Ladies, take a cue!!!

I also fancied Emma Stone's Lanvin two tone frock....i felt it was unexpected and fit her perfectly. The plunging neckline was sexy and  the eagle head belt modernized the look, whilst definning her waist (i'd have prefered a thinner belt though)....awesome

Another stunner for me was Salma Hayek....the Gucci gown she wore was great! The mosaic on the bodice is very artistic and stylish

Still on the matter, My darling Mila Kunis did not let me down as she spotted a black sheer Dior piece that was nothing short of alluring.

There's something about this girl.....she rocked the look like no other

Jessica Alba is always a sweetheart....

Claire Danes also looked wowzers in her J-mendel design....

I've got to run...those i did not mention either did not wow me, looked too bland or too busy.
Before you leave me, please follow my blog....thank you very much.
As i leave you, do remember this quote...

"trends will come and go but style will remain as it comes from within"

God's blessings
